PK: D: 17 L M: GIT E: Feces (50-65%) & urine (35-50%) |
Indications & Dose: HYPERTENSION PO Adult Initially 20mg OD, increase to 40mg OD if no response after 2 wk (may use combination therapy if inadequate control with olmesartan). Patients with depleted intravascular volume should be treated with low dose Child 6-16 yr: 20-35 kg: Initially 10mg/day, increase to 20mg/day if no response after 2 wk max 20mg/day >35 kg: Initially 20mg/day, if no response after 2 wk increase to 40mg/day Elderly Initially 5-10mg/day |
Contra: Concurrent use of potassium-sparing diuretics, hypersensitivity
Precautions: Renal artery stenosis, renal/hepatic impairment, patients with volume depletion (high-dose diuretic therapy), elderly, children ADR: Serious: peripheral edema, syncope, tachycardia, Impaired renal function, rhabdomyolysis, myalgia, arthralgia, orthostatic hypotension, Others: chest pain, Fatigue, dizziness, headache, insomnia, sinusitis, rhinitis, pharyngitis, nausea, diarrhea, constipation, abdominal pain, dry mouth, hematuria, hyperglycemia, back pain, arthritis, URTI, rash, alopecia, angioedema, dental pain, flulike symptoms Diet: With/without food Monitor: BP, serum K+ |
