Indications & Dose: VENTRICULAR ARRHYTHMIAS PO Adult IR tablet: Initially 150mg TID, increase at 3-4day intervals, max 300mg TID, ER tablet: Initially 225mg BID, dosage increase may be made at minimum of 5 days interval. If required may further increase to 325mg BID max 425mg BID |
Contra: Hypersensitivity, uncontrolled HF, SA, AV & intraventricular disorders of impulse generation and/or conduction, sinus bradycardia, cardiogenic shock, hypotension, bronchospastic disorders, uncorrected electrolyte abnormalities, concurrent use of ritonavir
Precautions: QT interval prolongers, myasthenia gravis, HF, hepatic impairment, electrolyte disturbances ADR: Serious: Arrhythmia, CHF, lupus-like syndrome, myasthenia gravis, seizures, agranulocytosis, ventricular tachycardia, palpitation, syncope, intraventricular conduction delay, blurred vision, tremor, arthralgia, Others: dizziness, altered taste, nausea, vomiting, constipation, headache, fatigue, diaphoresis, dyspnea DDI: Serious Warfarin efficacy is increased, Fluoxetine/Erythromycin/HIV protease inhibitors/Paroxetine/Quinidine increases drug level, Metoprolol/Digoxin/Propranolol levels are increased, Rifampicin/Phenobarbital reduces drug level Diet: With/without food Monitor: BP, PR, ECG, CHF & anemia symptoms,CBC |
