Glycopyrronium bromide is a quarternary ammonium antimuscarinic. It blocks acetylcholine at parasympathomimetic sites and induces smooth muscle relaxation. It antagonises muscarinic symptoms such as bronchorrhoea, bronchospasm, bradycardia and intestinal hypermotility induced by anticholinesterases.
