Indications & Dose: HEART FAILURE PO Adult Initially 40mg BID, titrate dose to 80-160mg BID max 320mg/day | HYPERTENSION PO Adult Initially 80mg or 160mg OD, may increase dose to achieve desired effect max 320mg/day Child 6-16 yr: Initially 1.3mg/kg/day max 40mg/day | LEFT VENTRICULAR DYSFUNCTION AFTER MI PO Adult Initially 20mg BID, titrate dose to 160mg BID, may initiate >12h following MI |
Contra: hypersensitivity
Precautions: Aortic/mitral stenosis, renal/hepatic impairment, obstructive biliary disorders, unstented unilateral/bilateral renal artery stenosis, patients who are volume depleted ADR: Serious: hypotension, renal impairment, neutropenia, increased serum potassium, BUN increased, blurred vision, viral infect, Others: syncope, diarrhea, abdominal pain, nausea, cough, dizziness DDI: Serious Indomethacin attenuate antihypertensive effect, Eplerenone/Amiloride increases risk of hyperkalemia, Glibenclamide reduces drug level, Lithium toxicity raises Diet: With/without food Monitor: Electrolyte panels, RFT, BP |
