Indications & Dose: ABORTION IM Adult Initially 250µg, then 250µg at 1.5-3.5h intervals, based on uterine response, 500µg can be given if inadequate response even after several 250µg doses, max 12mg or do not exceed continuous administration for >2 daysTermination of second trimester pregnancy | REFRACTORY POSTPARTUM UTERINE BLEEDING IM Adult Initially 250µg, repeat at 15- 90min interval if needed, max 2mg (8 doses) |
| Contra: Hypersensitivity, acute pelvic inflammatory disease, cardiac, renal, pulmonary or hepatic disease, IV administration
Precautions: History of glaucoma/raised IOP, asthma, anemia, jaundice, DM, uterine scars, epilepsy, hypotension, HTN ADR: Serious: Pulmonary edema, cardiovascular collapse, bronchospasm, raised BP, flushing, blurred vision, tinnitus, Others: septic shock, muscular pain, breast tenderness, endometritis, hot flashes, thyroid storm, xerostomia, Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, hyperthermia, dyspnea, headache, chills, diaphoresis, dizziness, erythema, pain at Inj site |
