Contra: Hypersensitivity, use with ergot derivatives, pimozide, cisapride

Precautions: Coronary artery disease, myasthenia gravis, severe renal impairment, elderly, hepatic impairment

ADR: Serious: Interstitial nephritis, renal failure, thrombophlebitis, arthralgia, myalgia, hypoglycemia, leucopenia, thrombocytopenia, increased PT, Others: GI disturbances, smell & taste disturbances, stomatitis, glossitis, tongue & tooth discoloration, headache, pain at Inj site

DDI: Serious Zidovudine bioavailability reduced, Antihistamines causes QT interval prolongation & leads to life-threatening Torsade de pointes arrhythmias, Delavirdine increases drug levels, Coumarins increases risk of bleeding, Rifabutin increases risk of uveitis & neutropenia, Amiodarone leads to additive effects on QT interval, Glipizide/Glibenclamide leads to hypoglycemia, Itraconazole/Cabergoline levels increased, Digoxin levels increases leads to toxicity, PPIs levels raises, Ergotamine/Dihydroergotamine/Nifedipine/Verapamil toxicity raises

Diet: With/without food (IR & Susp), with food (ER)

Monitor: CBC, BUN, creatinine
