Indications & Dose: TYPE 2 DIABETES MELLITUS Adjunct therapy SC Adult Initially 5mcg BID in patients who do not have adequate glycemic control (with metformin/sulfonylurea/ thiazolidinedione, or dual therapy with metformin plus sulfonylurea/or thiazolidinedine). Dose may increase to 10mg BID after 1 month |
Contra: Hypersensitivity, severe renal impairment, type 1 DM/diabetic ketoacidosis
Precautions: renal transplantation patients ADR: Serious: Hypoglycemia, acute pancreatitis, Others: mild to moderate nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, nervousness, dizziness, headache, dyspepsia, asthenia, decreased appetite, GERD, hyperhidrosis, rashes, hypersensitivity DDI: Others Somatropin/Corticosteroids/Thiazides decreases exenatide effects, VKAs/Sulfonylureas levels increases Monitor: Se glucose, Hb A1c, renal function |
