Indications & Dose: TYPE 2 DIABETES MELLITUS PO Adult IR tablet: Initially 80-160mg/day, doses >160mg/day should be given in 2 equal divided doses, max 320mg/day, SR tablet: 30-120mg/day |
| Contra: Hypersensitivity, type 1 DM, DKA
Precautions: Elderly, hepatic/renal impairment ADR: Serious: Hypoglycemia, jaundice, thrombocytopenia, hepatitis, Others: dizziness, headache, anorexia, constipation, diarrhea, epigastric fullness, nausea, paresthesia, myalgia DDI: Serious Rifampicin reduces drug effects, Fluconazole/Disopyramide/Miconazole results in hypoglycemia Diet: With food Monitor: Blood glucose & Hb A1c |
