DPP-4 INHIBITOR | ANTI-DIABETIC

PK: A: Rapid D: 198L E: Urine & feces

Indications & Dose: TYPE 2 DIABETES MELLITUS Mono therapy PO Adult 100mg/day in previously untreated patients

Contra: Anaphylaxis, angioedema, DKA, type 1 DM

Precautions: Renal impairment, patients on other anti-diabetics, history of pancreatitis

ADR: Serious: acute pancreatitis, anaphylaxis, angioedema, SJS, Others: rash, urticaria, headache

DDI: Serious Ketoconazole/Clarithromycin/Ritonavir increases drug levels, Glimepiride results in hypoglycemia

Diet: With/without food

Monitor: Hb A1c, serum glucose, renal function (before & during therapy)
