Indications & Dose: EDEMA Maintenance therapy PO Adult Initially 100mg BID, if edema is controlled administer 100mg/day or every other day | HYPERTENSION PO Adult 25mg OD, max 100mg/day, usual dosage 50-100mg/day |
| Contra: History of hyperkalemia, hypersensitivity, concurrent use of other potassium-sparing diuretics, anuria, severe hepatic disease, severe/progressive renal disease (ClCr <10mL/min)
Precautions: In alcohol dependence patients, hepatic dysfunction, renal insufficiency, DM, history of gout/renal calculi, elderly ADR: Serious: Megaloblastic anemia, thrombocytopenia, jaundice, hyperkalemia, metabolic acidosis, renal calculi, Others: Hyperglycemia, headache, fatigue, asthenia, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dry mouth DDI: Serious Lithium excretion increased, Trimethoprim/Tacrolimus leads to hyperkalemia, Spironolactone leads to severe & even life-threatening hyperkalemia, ACEIs leads to severe hyperkalemia, Amantadine toxicity raises by drug Diet: After food Monitor: BUN, creatinine, electrolyte levels, CBC |
