Indications & Dose: ASTHMA Inh Adult 2 inhalations twice daily (morning & evening), max 8 inhalations/day Child 6-15 yr: 2 inhalations twice daily (morning & evening), max 4 inhalations/day, =>16 yr: Same as adult dose | RHINITIS NSL Adult Solution [spray]: 25 or 29µg /actuation (25mL): 2 sprays each nostril twice daily (morning & evening), may increase to 2 sprays 3 times/day, max 8 sprays/day in each nostril Child 6-14 yr: 1 spray each nostril 3 times/day or 2 sprays in each nostril twice daily, max 4 sprays/day in each nostril, >15 yr: Same as adult dose |
Contra: Hypersensitivity, higher dose than recommended, presence of acute infect, administration of live vaccines
Precautions: Patients receiving systemic prednisone/other systemic corticosteriod, recent nasal septal ulcer/nasal surgery/nasal trauma, clinical TB/asymptomatic TB infect of the respiratory tract, untreated bacterial/fungal infect, ocular herpes simplex/untreated systemic viral infect, children <6 yr, CVD, DM, epilepsy, glaucoma, hypothyroidism, hepatic failure, osteoporosis, psychoses/severe affective disorders, renal impairment, elder ADR: Serious: Cushing’s Syndrome, hypersensitivity reactions, osteoporosis, increased susceptibility to infect, Churg-Strauss syndrome, mental & neurological disturbances, Others: delayed wound healing, muscle wasting & nitrogen depletion, hyperglycemia, menstrual irregularities, dryness, irritation, ulceration or perforation of nasal septum DDI: Serious Phenobarbital & other hepatic enzyme inducers may enhances the metabolism of drug Monitor: Anaphylaxis, angioedema, hyperadrenocorticism & serious infect |
