Indications & Dose: ACNE TP Adult Cream/gel/alcoholic solution (0.01- 0.1%): Apply once/twice daily according to response & irritation | PHOTODAMAGED SKIN TP Adult Cream 0.02% or 0.05%: Apply to entire face once daily at night, therapeutic response may be seen after 6 months |
Contra: Hypersensitivity
Precautions: Eczema, avoid excess exposure to sunlight & sunlamps, avoid contact with abraded skin, mucous membrane, eyes, mouth, angles of nose, children <12 yr, for external use only, avoid concomitant topical medications, hepatic/renal impairment ADR: Serious: retinoic acid syndrome, arrhythmias, hypotension, HTN, HF, MI, pulmonary HTN, secondary cardiomyopathy, myocarditis, pericarditis, Others: erythema, pruritus, mild sunburn, blistering & crusting of skin, photosensitivity, hypo/hyper pigmentation, dryness of mucous membranes & skin, cheilitis, epistaxis, conjunctivitis, erythematous rash, palmoplantar exfoliation, skin fragility DDI: Serious Minoxidil absorption increases by drug (topical), Antifibrinolytics causes fatal thrombotic complications, Tetracycline causes pseudotumour cerebri (benign intracranial HTN), Azoles leads to drug toxicity, Vit A leads to signs & symptoms of hypervitaminosis A Monitor: After first dose, watch closely for severe vasodilation, vital signs, neurologic status & watch for infusion site reaction |
