is there is any need to do tmt & 2decho in case of left axis deviation on ecg ? if yes then xplain.
Hi, dr. Nivedita , for just left axis deviation , there is generally no need for tmt and 2d eco , because some time it happen in normal condition , but we have to find some more clues in history, examination and ECG like ischemic changes , blocks etc. ( as in case of LAD, LVH, IHD, AND LBB are the few conditions which can cause lefty axis deviation, ) and if it is related with these then TMT and 2D ECO is helpful in finding more detail about the heart , like in LBBB in 2d we will find the decreased in left ventricle wall movement, and like in IHD if we use TMT then we can find the degree of ischemia by st elevation – depression ,T wave etc.
