Indications & Dose: COLON/RECTAL/BREAST/GASTRIC/PANCREATIC CANCER IV Adult Bolus 500mg/m2 over 5-15min q1wk or 500-600mg/m2 q3wk or 500-600mg/m2/dose days 1&8 q4wk Continuous inf: 500-750mg/m2 /day for 5 days q3wk or 1g/m2 /day for 4-5 days q3-4wk | MANAGEMENT OF ACTINIC OR SOLAR KERATOSES TP Adult Apply thin film to lesion OD up to 4wk as tolerated (as 0.5% cream) or apply to lesion BID 2-4 wk (as 5% cream) or apply to lesion BID 2-6 wk (as 1% cream) | SUPERFICIAL BASAL CELL CARCINOMA TP Adult Apply to lesion BID 3-6wk, continued 10-12 wk (as 5% cream) |
Contra: Hypersensitivity, poor nutritional states, depressed bone marrow function, potentially serious infect, patients with deficiency of DPD enzyme
Precautions: Pelvic radiation recipients, alkylating agents, renal/hepatic impairment, history of heart disease, patients with widespread metastases to bone marrow, avoid exposure to UV light during treatment, should not be used on mucous membranes ADR: Serious: Angina, arrhythmia, MI, HF, myocardial ischemia, ventricular ectopy, vasospasm, acute cerebellar syndrome, blood disorders, myelosuppression, thrombophlebitis, anaphylaxis, palmar-plantar erythrodysesthesia syndrome, SJS, TEN, Others: vein pigmentations, anorexia, diarrhea, sloughing, esophagopharyngitis, mesenteric ischemia, stomatitis, ulceration, nausea, vomiting, photophobia, visual changes, lacrimal duct stenosis, epistaxis, nail loss, generalized allergic reactions, confusion, disorientation, euphoria, headache, nystagmus, alopecia, dermatitis, dry skin DDI: Serious Warfarin anticoagulant effects increases & leads to serious bleeding, Mitomycin causes serious & potentially life-threatening intravascular hemolysis & renal failure on long term use, Cimetidine increases drug levels, Cisplatin increases risk of cardiotoxicity, Metronidazole/Folic acid leads to drug toxicity, Methotrexate leads to toxic skin reaction, Allopurinol modifies drug action Monitor: CBC & platelet count, renal function tests, LFTs |
