Indications & Dose: CHRONIC STABLE OR VASOSPASTIC ANGINA PO Adult IR: Initially 10mg TID, 20-30mg TID/QID in coronary artery spasm max 180mg/day, ER: Initially 30 or 60mg/day, max 120-180mg/day | HYPERTENSION PO Adult ER: Initially 30 or 60mg/day max 120-180mg/day Child 1 month-12 yr: 200-300µg/kg TID max 3mg/kg/day, 12-18 yr: 5-20mg TID max 100mg | PREMATURE LABOR SL Adult Initially 10mg (as IR capsule) followed by SR tablet (PO)given at a dose of 10mg q15min, max 40mg in first hour, then 60–160mg/day in 3–4 divided doses

Precautions: Hypotension, poor cardiac reserve, HF, severe aortic stenosis, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, CYP3A4 inhibitors, hepatic impairment

ADR: Serious: Abnormalities in liver function, hypersensitivity reactions, palpitations, tachycardia, peripheral edema, hypotension, cerebral/myocardial ischemia, Others: Gingival hyperplasia, myalgia, tremor, impotence, dizziness, flushing, headache, nausea, increased micturition frequency, visual disturbances, mental depression, fever

DDI: Serious Amoxicillin absorption increases, Phenothiazines causes additive hypotensive adverse effects, β-blockers causes severe hypotension & HF, Nafcillin clearance increases, Melatonin increase the BP & HR, Quinupristin increases AUC of drug, Alcohol increases drug bioavailability, Nelfinavir increases drug levels, Cefixime/Anti-neoplastics levels increases, Itraconazole/Fluconazole raises drug levels & increases its adverse effects, Neuromuscular blockers raises its efficacy, Phenobarbital reduces drug levels and/or increases its clearance

Diet: With/without food (IR), on empty stomach (ER)

Monitor: HR, BP, signs & symptoms of CHF
