Indications & Dose: ANGINA PECTORIS PO Adult 2.5-5mg TID | HYPERTENSION PO Adult Initially 5mg BID, increase as necessary by 10mg/day q3-4 wk max 60mg

Contra: bronchial asthma, cardiogenic shock, heart block, overt HF, severe bradycardia

Precautions: Renal/hepatic impairment, pulmonary disease, thyrotoxicosis, DM, severe allergic reactions, major surgery, elderly, myasthenia gravis, pheochromocytoma, history of psychiatric illness

ADR: Serious: Hypoglycemia, bronchospasm, HF, peripheral vasoconstriction, bradycardia, orthostatic hypotension, palpitations, blurred vision, tachycardia, edema, Others: erectile dysfunction, dizziness, drowsiness, lethargy, weakness, anxiety, depression, insomnia, nervousness, dry eyes, nausea, vomiting, constipation, diarrhea, erectile dysfunction, decreased libido, muscle cramps, wheezing, dyspnea, hyperglycemia, drug-induced lupus syndrome

DDI: Serious NSAIDs decreases antihypertensive effect of drug, Fluoxetine increases drug level, Thioridazine increases in the plasma levels of both drugs, Antidiabetics leads to hypoglycaemia, MAOIs leads to risk of hypotension & bradycardia, Verapamil/Diltiazem results in additive hypotension

Diet: With/without food

Monitor: BP, HR, respiratory function
