Description of Bradycardia

Bradycardia is a condition of having  slow heart rate than normal. Generally, a heart rate which is slower than 60 beats per minute is considered as bradycardia. Bradycardia may present with lightheadedness, fainting, dizziness, and shortness of breath. Certain medical conditions like thyroid disorders, congenital defects or  some antihypertensive medicines (as a side effect) cause reduced heart rate. Slow heart rate may not always be due to any underlying condition. It also depends on age and other physical conditions.
