They are associated with abnormal postures, rigidity, muscle spasms, tremor, slow movements, etc. Drug-induced movement disorders include dystonia, dyskinesia, akathisia, tardive dyskinesia, chorea, Parkinsonism, etc. The onset can be acute (occurs within hours to days after drug exposure), subacute (occurs weeks after drug exposure) and tardive (occurs months to years after drug exposure).
